Seattle Marinrs fans become viral as a sign of spring training game against athletics – Sports Illustrated

Seattle Marinrs lost to athletics on Wednesday in spring training in the Peoria Sports Complex. And while Road Tellyn’s home running or Colt Emerson’s smooth game was certainly pleasant, they were not the real accents in the game.

A pair of fans were because they were viral among the internet community for a message that the team owner John Stanton delivered to the owner of the team.

The sign reads “An owner away from the playoffs”, which suggests that Stanton does not do enough to overcome the M’s over the hump.

This extra -season, the sailors essentially sat down at a free agency, signing only veteran infiltrate Jorge Polanko and player Donovan Solano on modest one -year deals. They were considered to fit all out -of -season boys like Alex Bregman and Pete Alonso, but did not even participate in conversations about them. In the last six and seven years, M has made financial commitments of Julio Rodriguez, Luis Castillo and Robbie Ray, but that is the extent of this, and Ray has been traded to the Giants in San Francisco last season.

The Marinians enter this season with a golden opportunity to win the US League West, as Houston Astros took a step back after losing Bregman, Justin Verlander and Kyle Tucker, but it remains to be seen if the list will hold on.

Mariners will continue to play Cactus League on Thursday with a split square action. M will take the giants in Peoria as he fights with the Texas Rangers on the road surprised, Ariz.

The day of opening is March 27.
