The Seattle Seahawks activated George Fant from injured reserve on Saturday, clearing the way for his return to the lineup after seven weeks with a knee injury.

Cameron Young was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury to make room for Fant on the roster. In addition, cornerback Josh Jobe and wide receiver Cody White were elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

“George looks good. George looks really good,” head coach Mike McDonald said Friday.

Fant left the team’s season-opening win over the Denver Broncos after just 13 games with a knee injury that has kept him out of the lineup ever since. The team initially tried to avoid a stint on injured reserve for Fant, but his knee required more time to recover.

It’s an issue that has plagued Fant since training camp, where he often had extra days off to rest for veteran support.

Fant’s presumed return to action gives Seattle its strongest offensive line since Week 1. The Seahawks were reduced to a fourth-string option at right tackle with Fant, Abe Lucas (knee) and Stone Forsyth (hand) sidelined with injuries. Sixth-round rookie Mike Jerrell has started the team’s last two games at that position.

Young’s injury dates back to late last season, when he was hurt in the team’s final game against the Arizona Cardinals. He appeared in one game this season and played a total of three snaps.

Jobe played the last two games for Seattle with one start. Although Tre Brown returned healthy from an ankle injury last week, Jobe remained in the lineup as the team’s third cornerback along with Rick Wallen and Devon Witherspoon.

White gives Seattle additional depth at receiver, with DK Metcalf set to miss a second straight game with a knee injury.
