Scout Motor Certificates can change the law of SC – WPDE.com

Scout Motors is ready to testify to the Freedom Freedom Defenders in the State House in South Carolina on Wednesday in favor of H.3777, the Law on Freedom of Consumers of SC.

The legislation would create an additional option for buyers who want to buy a new vehicle that allows them to buy directly from manufacturers who have no existing franchise dealers.

Defenders claim that without the Law on Freedom of Consumers of SC, some car manufacturers cannot sell their vehicles in South Carolina, forcing customers to travel to other states to buy them.

Scout Motors wants to allow customers to buy the company’s vehicle in an application and then use it to deal with everything from repairs to upgrades.

In order for this to happen, there will be a change in an existing state law.

South Carolina’s law is currently prohibiting manufacturers from selling vehicles directly to users online or in showrooms and requires all new vehicles to be purchased through a dealer.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster said he wanted to protect dealers, but would also like to leave Scout Motors to sell directly.

“Over the last few years, with the Internet and Amazon and all the other customers have been looking for their freedom and this ability to order things directly without a mediator,” said governor McMaster.

The bill will receive its first hearing at the Business and Trade Sub -Committee of the SC House’s Labor, Trade and Industry at 9am on Wednesday.
