Scotsdale voters to solve Akson’s plan – Scottsdale.org

The complex plan of Axon live lives is directed to the newsletter.

Following the process of reviewing the city and the county, city official Ben Lane informed a group challenging the Axon City Council approved that there were enough signatures to place the plan of the Akson apartment of the voters.

Lane sent the message by email to taxpayers against terrible apartment release (Taaaze) on Thursday, January 30

Earlier this week, the district record holder Justin Hape completed an audit of signatures presented by the taxpayer group against terrible apartment liberations (Taaaze).

In December, former councilor Bob Littlefield, who chaired Pac Taaaze, delivered boxes containing 26,000 signatures supporting the group’s petition. Taaze wants the Axon Rezononi-cane Municipal Council approved by the Municipal Council-which allows 1800 apartments/apartments and a hotel-to go to voters.

After reviewing the city, city official Ben Lane sent a part to the audit county.

In a letter to Littlefield Heap, he said he had reviewed 1.184 signatures “which were randomly selected” for verification.

Of these, 212 signatures were disqualified.

But “972 signatures included in the arbitrary sample were established as qualified electors at the time of signing the petition and therefore their signatures were not disqualified,” Hip said.

As Littlefield sees, “the county has completed its random sample of our petitions and found that they have a validity rate of 82%, which means that we have much more than the minimum required 15 353 signatures to force the proposal for the apartment apartment. “

In an email on January 28 to the Municipal Council, Lane said: “Now I have 48 hours to decide whether the petition meets the requirements for inclusion in the November 2026 newsletter.”

Two days later, he informs Taaaze the total number of valid signatures of the petition of the referendum of the group “is equal or above the minimum required by Arizona’s constitution to set the measure of voting in the general elections in November 2026”.

Littlefield comment:

“We did it!”

Lane noted that the City Council “also has the opportunity to call special elections for a higher date”.

Axon founder Rick Smith, a Chaparral graduate, who launched his Taser creation company in his hometown, claims that Littlefield signing is supported by the California Union.

And, warned Smith, if he has to wait for the 2026 election, he will move to one of the other cities that court the axon that has annual sales over $ 1.5 billion. Asked for a comment on the news about the referendum, axon spokesman David Leibovitz said: “We continue to look at all our options regarding the referendum and relocation.

“Again, as Rick Smith became very clear, waiting until November 2026 to obtain a resolution for the World Headquarters is simply not an axon option.”

In 2020, Axon purchased 74 acres of state reserved land near Hayden Road and Loop 101. Last year, Axon announced a new plan with restaurants, shops, nearly 2000 apartments – later reduced to about 1800 apartments and apartments – and a hotel around The New Office S

AKson won unanimous approval from the Planning Commission in the fall.

On November 19, the City Council approved the resonance by 5-2 votes; Katie Littlefield (Bob’s wife) and Barry Graham voted against it.
