School resource officer accidentally uses stun gun on student, officials say – WAFB

EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (WAFB) – A school resource officer is on administrative leave after accidentally using a stun gun on a student, according to a spokesperson for the East Baton Rouge school system.

The spokesperson says the incident happened on Tuesday, October 29 at a bus transfer point in East Baton Rouge.

The following statement was released by the EBR Schools spokesperson:

According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, the law enforcement officer is also a deputy jailer who works in booking processing.

The name of the school resource officer has not been released.
