SB County Public Affairs is ready for the winter – urban news in San Bernadino

The public works of San Bernardino County are heading for the winter with significantly improved readiness. With the support of the Council of Supervisors, public works have invested in over 30 new pieces of heavy machines, including loaders and fans. This addition brings the arsenal of the department of more than 100 machines, providing a stable reaction to winter storms in our mountain communities.

After February-March 2023, the snowstorms, which brought unprecedented snowfall in the local mountains, public work quickly acted to provide the equipment needed to manage such extreme conditions, equipping operators with specialized training to optimize the work of this improved fleet. This guarantees faster response times and more efficient snow removal operations, helping to maintain mountain road sails clean and safe.

The extended fleet is strategically organized throughout the county, allowing immediate mobilization of the affected areas. This approach enables public works to quickly clear roads and debris, ensuring that emergency vehicles can have access to the affected communities and residents can be safely evacuated if necessary.

Public Works is also actively coordinated with partner agencies through winter readiness meetings, guaranteeing a hassle -free, united response to future storms.

Through a proactive management of the challenges aroused by the difficult winter, public works protect the well -being of mountain communities and improve the overall resistance of the county to natural disasters.
