ALACHUA, Fla. (WCJB) – After a sexual harassment lawsuit, two Santa Fe high school administrators have been placed on administrative leave as the school district looks into the complaint.
Alachua County School District officials confirm that Mack Rendeck, assistant principal, and Michelle Faulk, athletic director, have been placed on paid leave.
In a lawsuit filed last week, Rendek, Faulk and Timothy Wright, a former school principal who retired this summer, were accused of failing to report sexual harassment of a student.
A high school sophomore reportedly told administrators that Travis Yekring, the baseball coach, showed her an explicit photo of himself and made “sexually charged statements” to her during the 2022-2023 school year.
According to the complaint, the student twice reported the incidents to administrators.
The student says administrators told her they were aware of other allegations against Yekring.
In March 2024, Yekring was placed on administrative leave, days after the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) began investigating reports of “crimes against children.”
Attorney Bobby Frank, representing the student’s mother, filed a “notice of intent” to file a lawsuit in June. This notice was called Wright, Rendeck and Falk.
