A 33-year-old Salem man was arrested for felony retail theft after he was allegedly found hiding in a bathroom at the Farm Fresh Market on East Main Street, eating product taken from the store.
Salem police say Adam Durham, of Julia Drive, was found as they were completing a search of the building after a burglar alarm sounded.
Police believe Durham hid in the store when it closed at nine on Wednesday night. Less than an hour later, the theft alarm went off after apparently noticing Durham taking items from the store.
In addition to the items Durham was eating, he had other stolen food items in a bag.
In addition to the new retail theft charge, Durham was arrested on an outstanding Marion County felony warrant with no bond on a previous retail theft charge.
