RPD gives new details on Pickett Park shooting – KOLO

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Reno Police Department is releasing new information about a shooting that happened in Pickett Park last week.

Shortly before 7:00 PM on October 17th, RPD officers responded to the park for reports of shots fired in the area. When they arrived, they found a man with an apparent gunshot wound.

Detectives have identified a car that was in the area and say the driver may have witnessed the shooting. They say it’s a 2003-2005 Honda Accord four-door with a sunroof, tinted windows and five-spoke windows. RPD says they would like to speak with the driver of that car.

The victim’s identity is being withheld until proper notifications are made.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and later died from his injuries.

Police say the suspect in this case has not yet been located. Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Department.
