Roads in the Topeka area snowy and icy on Wednesday morning-wibw

Topeka, Kan. (Wibw) – Dry and fluffy snow continued to fall early Wednesday through Topeka and northeast Kansas, which led to insidious driving conditions in some areas.

Crews can be seen to treat the Interstate 70 on the west side of Topeca before 5am on Wednesday, as the electronic messages for the messages warn motorists to drive cautiously as the roads are “snowy and icy”.

About 3 inches of snow fell in some areas of Topeka by 5am on Wednesday by more on the road. The estimated amount for the Topeka area was about 5 to 7 inches.

Emergency Department of Emergency Situations of the District of Shawney has said they are being reported on the ice conditions, as snowfall is expected to continue in the morning and afternoon.

Officials urged people to stay home, if possible, and be extra careful on bridges and overpasses.

The Police Department in Topeka applied its phase for reporting accidents on Wednesday morning.

This means that the Police Department in Topeka will be responsible and investigate accidents that fall into the following parameters:

–New, possible injury or death of any person

-The driver’s disability due to drugs or alcohol

-Hit-and-run incidents-incidents where there is a disturbance between participating countries

-Whka a dangerous material situation

-When the accident leads to large traffic jams

-When there is a vehicle damage to the extent to which withdrawal is required
