Ridot to continue the destruction of Washington Bridge on Monday – NECN

The next round of demolition on the Washington Bridge of the Rhodes will begin on Monday, NBC WJAR-TV’s branch reports.

After the previous circles of destruction caused anxiety and confusion on social media, the Ministry of Transport of Rod Island announces its plans this time.

The state will demolish the old Gano Street outside the Monday ramp, with a second controlled destruction of the same span expected on Tuesday.

Rido said the contractor would have barges under a span to catch any falling debris.

Video, filmed during a previous round of demolition near Providence’s country, caused fears that something had gone wrong. Ridot, however, said the controlled destruction was carried out in accordance with the approved plans.

Later this week, the Chamber and the Senate Supervision Committees will listen to a presentation on the status of the Washington Bridge project.
