Reward offered for information on murders in northwest Reno – KTVN

Update (10/30, 7:00 p.m.):

Secret Witness is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of suspects wanted in connection with a Reno murder.

It happened Sunday on May Ann Avenue.

A man died from an apparent gunshot wound.

The suspects have not yet been identified.

Update (10/28, 11:42 a.m.):

A statement from the Reno Police Department revealed that the department is investigating our previously reported death as a homicide.

Shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Oct. 27, officers responded to 7000 Mae Anne Avenue — at the Aviana at Tuscany Apartments — for a report of shots fired in the area.

When the police arrived, they found that a man had been shot.

The victim was diagnosed on the spot by the medical staff. At that point, the Reno Police Department’s Robbery and Homicide Unit took over the investigation.

The suspect in the investigation is still unknown, but detectives believe this is an isolated incident with no threat to the public.

The identity of the victim will be released after due notification.

Detectives with the Reno Police Department are investigating a death at an apartment complex in northwest Reno this evening.

The investigation is taking place at the Aviana at Tuscany Apartments, on Mae Anne Avenue in Reno.

The Reno Police Department is currently on scene.

Lt. Mike Browett of the Reno Police Department was able to confirm that there is no active threat to the community.
