Las Vegas (KSNV) – New details have emerged behind the fell 46-year-old police officer in North Las Vegas Jason Roskov, who succumbed to his injuries after being shot dead at a duty on Wednesday afternoon.

Retired police lieutenant in North Las Vegas Tim Bedwell, who works closely with officer Roskov as his leader, says the sudden loss is unthinkable.

“We lost the hero and the sky won a hero and they can know that he was standing before death to protect the community and for that he lived.”

Almost too hard to find the words, retired lieutenant Bedwell tells the 17 -year service of officer Roskov with NLVPD.

“I remember him as a very happy, delighted with a golden heart that took care of his family and took care of the community and really literally wanted to be out on the street, doing his job,” Bedwell said.

A vigil will be held with candles for officer Roskov in the mayoralty of North Las Vegas on Thursday night at 5:30.
