A suspect was arrested after a man was found beaten near the Palmetto Freeway in Hialeah Wednesday night, authorities said.
Florida Highway Patrol officials said officers responded to a report of a disturbance shortly before 8 p.m. after the victim was beaten on the northbound Palmetto Street entrance ramp from Northwest 122nd Street.
A perimeter was established and the suspect, Osmani Herrera, 49, was located and taken into custody and later booked into jail.
The victim was treated on the spot.
Hialeah police said the incident was initially reported as a possible armed suspect.
