Lake O ‘The Pines provides water to industrial and municipal clients in northeastern Texas. They also provide water for cities in northeastern Texas such as Longview and Marshall.

The hydrology of the cypress pool is so significant that we just want to sell part of this water,” said Wayne Owen, a Netmwd general manager. “And the health of the pool and the Lake Caddo should not be negatively influenced by this transaction.”
Owen said they had been discussing with the North Texas area for 10 years and said they were not close to a sale or water agreement. This is still in the process of negotiating.
In a press release from the municipal region of the northeastern Texas, the group said that 1 billion gallons of water were released downstream. This is equal to the amount of water that all our members and cities of clients used in 2024.
