Report: A woman shot at her home in Las Vegas by a man she has never met before – Fox 5 Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nev. (FOX5) – A woman told the Las Vegas police that she had never met or spoke to the man who shot her in her home.

Las Vegas police have released the arrest report for Kevin Filiger to Fox5. He faces accusations of murder attempt, kidnapping to the first degree, burglary, carrying a firearm without permission, firing a weapon inside a structure and two to break probation.

Police said the incident happened on Tuesday morning in Southeast Las Vegas. Around 9:18, the LVMPD dispatcher received a call, saying that her neighbor had been shot. There was a language barrier as the victim speaks only Spanish.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found a woman who was shot in the elbow, and a man who coincides with the suspect description of close.

The woman was transported to Sunrise Hospital. She told police that the man had entered through her open garage with a Husky dog. She was shot and strangled.

She was able to escape and lock herself in the main bedroom. At one point, she was raining to her neighbor and asked for help to call 911.

Police also took Philiger in custody. He had an empty holster on a firearm on his body. Nearby, police found a firearm.

Police tried to interview suspects, but he won’t talk. Police offered him a pen and paper. He wrote: “shot her.”

At Sunrise Hospital, the victim said she had never interacted with him before. She was open to her garage door to her daughter, who was expected to go home at the time.

According to the records of the District Court, Filiger was released on a trial period on charges of trying to own a firearm by a forbidden person. He will face a judge to talk about his probation on February 10th.

As for the shooting, it is to be checked on February 3.
