Report: A surprising team tried to trade for Cavaliers All -star – Sports Illustrated

Cleveland Cavaliers decided not to make any deals in recent months, despite violent speculation that suggested they were doing something else.

After the disappointing release of the playoffs last May, many were wondering if the cavaliers would divide the duo of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland or potentially move Jareth Allen, but Cleveland decided to move forward with its main intact.

It has been proven to be a good solution as CAVS is about to land seed # 1 at the Eastern Conference this season.

And along the way, they apparently rejected the trade interest in one of their all stars.

Jake Fisher from Stein’s line said San Antonio Spurs was asked about Garland’s presence during the extra -season, but was told that Garland was not available.

“The spurs called Cleveland Cavaliers last June of Garland when they still had a choice of No. 4 and No. 8 in the draft,” Fisher writes. “The cavaliers did not regain great interest in discussing the trading of garlands at that time.”

Fisher did not go into detail about what San Antonio may have offered Cavalars in a potential commercial package, but apparently Cleveland was not interested in discussing a deal independently.

Garland has just won her second-Star Selection career with the kind assistance of an average of 21.8 points and 6.8 assists over 30.3 minutes per match at 50.1/42.4/88.4 shooting sections.

The 25-year-old youth bounced from a rough 2023-24 campaign, where he only played in 57 games and registered 18 points per night on average efficiency.

Garland is under contract with CAVS by 2028.
