Reno to Honor Black History Month with Believe Statue Lighting – Krnv

The city of Renault will host the evening of reflection, a holiday and a unity in honor of the month of black history. The event will be held on Wednesday, February 5, at 4:30 pm, with the participation of the lighting of the statue of belief in red, yellow and green, colors that will remain throughout the month.

The proclamation reading and acceptance will accompany the lighting ceremony. This year’s event will pay tribute to Kenny Dalton, one of the first black firefighters in Renault. Dalton dedicated his life to public service, history and return. He was also an active partner in several City of Reno programs and played a role in planning this year’s recognition event.

Participants can enjoy free parking in the Renault City Hall parking garage.
