A release from the Reno Police Department revealed that the department is investigating the reported death as a homicide.
On Oct. 29, officers responded to a home on Mustengo Drive on a report of an elderly woman having a medical emergency.
Reno police say when medical personnel arrived, they found the woman dead.
After an autopsy performed by the Washoe County Medical Examiner, the cause of death was determined to be the result of homicide.
Reno police said their robbery-homicide unit took over the crime scene and began an investigation.
Today, October 31st, detectives with the Reno Police Department arrested William Griggs on a charge of aggravated murder.
Police say the victim’s identity will be released after proper notification.
