A Reno man has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting three teenagers on the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Reservation in 2023.
The Justice Department says 25-year-old Roy Ramirez pistol-whipped a teenager in the face, hit a second teenager in the head with a gun and pointed a gun at a third teenager. The second teenager is a 13-year-old with multiple, life-threatening injuries.
The Justice Department says Ramirez was on state parole at the time of the attack, in September 2023.
Ramirez pleaded guilty to one count of assault with a dangerous weapon in Indian country and one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury in Indian country.
Ramirez was then sentenced to five years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
The FBI, Nevada Parole and Probation and the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony Tribal Police investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Penelope Brady prosecuted the case.
