Renault Fire Department gives National Week Safety Tips on Burning – Kolo

Reno, Nev. (Kolo) -American Burning Association does not coordinate National Burning Week around any current events, but Renault’s fire service has been using what we have seen recently to talk about ways to prevent fires at home.

“When you look at meteorological events like today, when we have very strong wind conditions, the palisades can happen anywhere,” says Fire Marshall John Beck.

Beck says there are a number of things to keep in mind on a daily basis, using the use of oven gloves when working with hot objects, you do not leave candles unattended and where you hold your fire extinguisher.

“You want to hold your fire extinguishes to your exit so you don’t have to walk past the fire area to pick up your fire extinguishes.”

The Renault Fire Service also recommends having an emergency combustion kit. If a small heat appears in a pan, cover the heat with a metal lid or a sheet of cookies stew the flames.

And one of the most important elements that should be upset to reduce the risk of fire are smoke alarms.

“It’s important to check with regularity,” Beck said. “Make sure the batteries are up -to -date. And the units have ten years of maximum life. “
