Region 14 Mariachi’s concert brings the best students talents in Laredo – KGNS

Laredo, Texas (KGNS) – Students from South Texas from South Texas will take the stage this Saturday, February 8th, for the concert of Mariachi Region 14. The event will be held at 16:00 in the audience of the UISD Student Center.

Students from Larendo, Corps Christie, Sapata and Alice will come out, joined the two -time Grammy winners Emily Guerrero and Cindy Shee. Guerrero, a native of Larendo, and Shea, the founder of the entirely women’s group Mariachi Divas, will also help the students’ leadership during rehearsals.

“This event is collected by all Mariachi directors in our region,” says Alma Garcia of the Texas Association of Music Teachers. “Our students work very hard to prepare for two days.”

To be part of the concert, the high school students listened to September while high school students tried in December.

Tickets are $ 3 for adults, $ 2 for children and $ 1 for students with ID. Garcia encouraged the community to attend and support Mariachi Music.

“This music is part of our culture,” she said. “He returns memories and means a lot to many people.”
