Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Huskies are pursuing some talented players in the class of 2026. Last week we looked at the top offensive targets in the class of 2026. Today we’ll look at some of the top defensive targets in the class.
At safety, the Huskies look to make a huge splash and land Salesi Moa from Fremont HS, California. Moa, who is rated as the 38th best player in the class, has multiple offers from around the country and is looking hard at Utah, Michigan, Michigan State and UW. The Huskies have let Moa know how much they want him and visited him this offseason.
At defensive back, the Huskies are heavily pursuing 4-star defensive back Davon Benjamin from Oaks Christian HS, California. Benjamin, who is rated as the 47th best player in the class and the 4th best cornerback in the country. The Huskies face stiff competition with the likes of Oregon, USC, Miami and Ohio State in tow. UW coaches visited him this week and indicated they are making him a top target in the 2026 class.
On the edge, Huskies running back Anthony Jones of Crean Lutheran HS, California. Jones recently narrowed his recruitment and included the Huskies along with ASU, Michigan, Tennessee and UCLA. The Huskies would love to add a talented rusher to their roster, and Jones is one of the best in the West (he’s rated the 16th best in the country).
Also on the brink, the Huskies are after a 4-star local advantage and appear to be an early favorite. Derek Coleman-Brusa of Kennedy Catholic HS. Coleman-Brusa is rated the 137th best player and the 12th best player in the country. The Huskies are battling Ohio State, USC and Oregon to try to keep Coleman-Bruce at home (since his brother is on the roster, you’d have to put the Huskies as the frontrunner for him right now).
The Huskies are looking for a lot of players both locally and across the country, but the guys I listed above are players the Huskies have a good chance of landing. That’s it for today, as always follow me @asieverkropp.
