Records on Monday, more heat this week – KCBD

Lubbock, Texas (KCBD) – We’ve set a few entries on Lubbock on Monday. The high temperature of 91 degrees broke the previous record high for February 3 at 10 degrees; 81 was reached on this date in 2021 (and was followed by the brutal cold only weeks later). Typically, this time of the year is 58.

By showing how many things they could vary in February, in 2022, on that date a record was set for the largest peak, at 17.

A second record set on Monday, according to the National Meteorological Service Service, Lubbock, is the worst in the year of record, which we have reached 90 degrees. The records returned to 1911. The previous record was on February 11, 2017, when it reached 91.

91 is the most warming temperature reading in February.

A cold front, which now over the central plains will become in our area on Tuesday morning, with the wind shifting from the northeast.

Tuesday will be more cool in Lubbock, close to 70. A mixture of sun and clouds.

The clouds are likely to stay for areas of Caprock, to the northeast, keeping it much more cool. High in the upper 50s around Turkey and Childers. The front may not reach the southeast of New Mexico, or at least it will not have much influence, such as the high in the above 70s.

The clouds will increase again on Tuesday night, probably with a little fog and eventually will be destroyed. Gusty SW Wind will start on Wednesday, which will lead to a warm day with a raised fire risk.

We expect warm weather for the rest of the week, with a stronger cold front this weekend through our area. Super Bowl Sunday is likely to return to the high at the top of the 40s.
