Comet C/2023 can be seen in the sky from a beach near Appalachikola, Florida from FSU freshman and Major Astrophysics Asher Siko.

It’s not a bird, it’s not an airplane – it’s a comet.

COMET C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-Atlas) to be accurate.

The freshman of the University of Florida Asher Siko, majoring in Astrophysics, glanced at the heavenly flame once every 80,000 years, which could be noticed by the naked eye in the next few weeks before it began to fade.

“We decided to go to see it over the water because there is no very slight pollution there,” said 19-year-old Cicco, a native of Pinellas County, “Tallahasese Democrat said on Monday. He saw the comet on Sunday night on the St. Joseph Peninsula with Astronomical Society Talahasi.

“I thought it was just really great and gave you another perspective on the universe.”

While the comet – a frozen residue of dust, rock and ice from the origin of the solar system, according to NASA – reached its brightens at about 36.4 million miles from the sun on September 27, the best views of the comet from Earth are at the beginning to mid -October, time allows. It rises from the western horizon to be visible in the southwestern sky at night.

C/2023 A3 generates excitement among Skywatchers and amateur jumpers for being a long comet period that takes more than 200 years to orb the sun-or 80,000 years in the case of this comet-in comparison with comet with comet A short period that usually takes less than 200 years.

This means that anyone who misses C/2023 A3 this time will have no chance of seeing it again.

Cicco, which uses a loan of a telescope from the Leroy Collins Leon Leon Leon Leon Leon to get a better look at the comet, describes the appearance of once on a blue moon as a “beautiful” vertical strip.

“When we first began to see it, there was only a very weak series in the sky, but as it continued to get worse and darker, it continued to get worse and worse,” Zico said.

How do I see the comet

The closer approach of the comet to the ground was on October 11 or 12, and as it climbs higher in the sky every night, it will slowly fade from the view. But there is still time to throw it.

C/2023 A3 will start fading from view until November 7, according to Skyandtelescope.com.

Some suggestions for the best view include finding a dark place by staying away from the city’s pollution and looking for a higher place. Cicco says local recommendations to see the comet are the Cedar Hill landing and the national shelter for the wild St. Marx.

He also offers you to get the best view between 7:50 pm to 20:00, which is in the evening right after sunset.

Although C/2023 A3 can be visible to the naked eye, a set of binoculars or a small telescope can also be useful. The main public library of Leroy Collins Leon County has telescopes available to the public to verify.

“It’s once, many, many life -like events,” Cicco said. “Look at it as soon as possible.”
