Raymond L. Merith – Arkansas Online

Raymond (“Ray”) L. Merit, 82 -year -old, computer programmer and president of Raymer Systems Group, died quietly in his sleep at home in Talahasi, Florida, on January 26, 2025. He was born in Little Rock, ARK. , On March 20, 1942, the son of Raymond P. and Taleta Harp Merit. Raymond graduated from Mabelweil High School in 1960, but always regrets that he and his longtime classmates are not able to graduate together in Hall High School, which was then closed due to the crisis with the small rock. He remained in contact with his classmates from the hall and the “class that was not” still has regular class meetings. After graduating from high school, Raymond served as a radarman in the US Navy aboard the USS WASP aircraft. It was there that he discovered his passion for computers, and he began to seek an available education to learn more during the advent of computer technology. He went to the Arkansas State Teachers College (Konway) and the University of Arkansas (Faetavil), but his computer programming skills were mostly self -taught due to the lack of official education accessible to this new discipline. He eventually founded his own company, Raymer Systems Group and has been involved in several perennial technology projects in large banks in Little Rock, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Baton Rouge and Richmond, VA. Raymond has always supported his wife’s career in her career, and when she had the opportunity to promote in 1996, they moved to Talahassi. They intend to stay for only a few years, but they liked it so much that they have never left. They enjoyed a full and happy life, spending the weekends in their beach house at Cape San Blas, taking dance lessons by joining a classic car club, going to cruises and other vacations with friends and attending sports, theater and concerts at the State University in Florida. After his retirement, Raymond was a volunteer website for several non -profit websites, including in Hall High School and Mabelvale High School. Raymond is preceded by death by his parents and his son-in-law, Dr. Jerry Gragh, DDS. He survived his wife at the age of 40, Ronda of Merrit from Talahasi, Florida; Sister Linda Steel Graham from Faetwil, Arkansas; Nieces of Michele Steel (Joey Kerr) from Faetavil, Arkansas and Lindsay Dorow of Columbus, Ohio; Nieces Bradley Doro of Fort Smith, Ark. great-Plemen and great-Plementik Nikola, Obrsel, Jail and Alexander; And his honorary nephews and nephew Sydney, summer and Jordan.
