Ranking of the largest list of NBA All -star Snubs: Trae Young, Kyrie Irving and others -The Athletic

The NBA announced its All-Star reserves on Thursday night and now we know who will represent the Eastern and Western Conferences in San Francisco next month. This means that we also found out which players would not go, forbidding one of all stars.

A number of players had strong cases to make the team this season, and the last pairs of places at any conference could go to a handful of players. You are on the razor, or even just a pure preference, is what all Snubs stars separates.

So, who were these All-Star Snubs? Here is our list, for the largest to the smallest. (All statistics and records are as of the afternoon on January 30)

Kiri Irving, G, Dallas Maverix

Statistics: 24.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 48.2 percent of the terrain, 42.2 percent from 3 to 7.0 attempts per game.

Irving was a ballast for the Maveri, destroyed by an injury this year, as they are difficult to hang in the brutal West. They have received only 22 games from Luka Doncic and 32 from the center of Derek Lively II, but are nevertheless 26-22 and eighth in the conference. Irving has banished the insult of Maverix, and although his total number is reduced by his peak (or even last season), he has delivered reliable production for a team that often starves with the best options. He shoots the 3 at 42.2 percent in his career, and Dallas is 23-15 when he plays.

There are many guards in the West who had the job to make the team, but it is still difficult to understand why Irving did not do it, especially since his experience as a multiple All-Star had to give him a tiebreaker over the race.

Tyrese Maxey, G, Philadelphia 76ERS

Statistics: 27.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 43.6 percent of the terrain, 34 percent from 3 to 9.7 attempts per match.

Maxey may be the only good thing about the Sixers season so far, except for the 23 games they received from Jared McCain. Maxi scored more than he did as the All-Star breakthrough last season-his 27.1 points per game are bound to the fifth place in the NBA-Makar and with worse shooting numbers. This can be attributed to it with a much larger load to the Six this season with Joel Embide and Paul George’s injuries. Philadelphia is an average of 9.9 points more per 100 possessions when Maxi is on the court than when sitting.

Although Embide missed most of the season and George missed 15 games until he was the player the Six were expecting when Philadelphia was a game outside the playing tournament and his playoffs were not faded. The sixters have Maxey to thank for it.

Domantas Sabonis, F, Sacramento Kings

Statistics: 21.0 points, 14.6 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 60.9 percent of the terrain, 48.1 percent from 3 to 2.4 play attempts.

Sabonis has been a prototypical snug since I reached Sacramento four years ago. He puts huge numbers for a team outside the title dispute and is sometimes lost in the battle as a result. He actually made more NBA teams than all-Star Games during his full seasons with Kings.

This season, Sabbonis leads the NBA to Rebounding (14.6 per game) and it is an average of 21 points and 6.5 assists. It is a transition machine for one person, controlling all production by grabbing the board and ending at the other end or taking off a sweet dish. But he was also a victim of a deep Western front and a Kings team, who struggles to remain floating in the playoff race.

Trae Young, G, Atlanta Hawks

Statistics: 22.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 11.4 assists, 40.2 percent of the terrain, 34.2 percent from 3 to 8.4 play trials

It is always weird when the league leader in traditional statistics does not make All-Star Game. Young leads the league in assists at a match, an average of 1.3 more per match than Nikola Djokic, the only other player in two -digit.

Young was in a similar place last season. He was second for Tirze Haliberon, an average of 10.8 assists per match. Initially, Young was not referred to as a reserve, but eventually went to the event as a substitute for the injury. He had a better year of shooting last season. This season, he is filming the most stable percentage of the pitch and is a complete percentage below the average for his career of 3.

However, Hawks were 10 games under .500 at that time last season. This season, they are only three games below, plus appear in the semifinals of the NBA Cup of their resumption.

Young’s reputation as one of the oldest defenders of the league will always hurt him with coaches.

Devin Booker, G, Phoenix Suns

Statistics: 25.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 44.1 percent of the terrain, 34.2 percent from 3 to 7.8 attempts per match.

Booker isn’t all-Star? It doesn’t seem possible. But it’s true.

It is difficult to say that Booker has a strong case this year. Yes, his play numbers are impressive, but he did not show the same type of production we expect. His shooting numbers were charged; Its effective percentage of the goal in the field is his largest of his third season in the NBA. The sun had their problems this year, they are only 24-22, and in the ninth place in the west, it is difficult to say that Phoenix deserves a second All-Star this season beyond the starter Kevin Durant.

In the end, Booker is the victim of an uncharacteristic season with a slight drop, strong seasons from other guards in the West, and the sun is struggling to stay above .500.

Jaret Allen, C, Cavalars

Statistics: 13.9 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 70.2 percent of the terrain

Cavaliers are the best team in the east by mile, and Alan is the only one of their main four who did not receive an invitation to the All-Star game. Its number is not the best in career, although dropping out of statistics is also a reflection of less minutes. However, it is an average of 14 and 10 and shoots 70 percent of the pitch for 37-9 teams. Alan helps Cavaliers dominate half the two ends for a team that has the best crime in the league and improved defense rating.

Josh Hart, F, New York Knicks

Statistics: 13.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.5 thefts, 55.5 percent of the terrain, 35.7 percent of the terrain at 3.3 play attempts

Do Knicks Third All-Star deserve? Perhaps not only on the basis of their record or their place in the East ranking, but Hart made a convincing case as an unconventional All-Star. It fills the leaves of the article and has a ridiculous 61.8 effective percentage of field targets as a player on the perimeter. He is also a 6-4 wing, which is Knicks’s second best big man because of his bounce and the chaos he causes in the transition.

A case should be done for OG Anunoby as the third Knicks best player who worships Hart’s campaign for this place. But Hart is the heart and soul of a very good and fun team in New York.

Josh Hart on Knicks can’t do something that no one has made a NBA player at his height

Lamelo Ball, G, Charlotte Hornets

Statistics: 28.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 7.3 assists, 41.9 percent of the terrain, 33.7 percent from 3 to 12.3 Match attempts

It was a rough running for a ball whose love by fans was not combined with that of his peers, media or coaches. He is the fourth leading goal scorer in the league, but in the team with the fourth worst record in the League. It is difficult to reward large numbers and the effectiveness of the middle of a very bad team. He takes an absurd 12.3 3S game – most in the NBA – but shoots only 33.7 percent on them, and 3.7 rpm per match is the fifth most in the league.

However, Ball has a very good season, and the numbers of the best lines are better than its All-Star campaign in 2022.

Other names considered (in no order): Norman Powell (Wing La Clippers), Tyrese Haliburton (Guard of Indiana Pacers), Zack Lavin (Chicago Guardian Buls), Franz Wagner (Orlando ahead), Scottie Barnes (Toronto Raptor’s Wing), Ovnobi (New York Cancer) , Jalen Green Wing (Houston’s Guard).
