Phoenix – Several Metro Phoenix Highway Ramps – one in the Eastern Valley and the other in Scottsdale – are closed over the next two months as part of the current improvement projects.

The Gilbert Road ramp to the western contour of 202 Santan highway will come out first offline, starting at 11:30 pm Sunday.

The 101 Pima highway in the Cactus Road ramp is then intended to close at 1 am on Monday.

Motorists who regularly use these ramps will need to find alternative points to access the highway by mid -April, according to the Arizona Ministry of Transport.

Why are two ramps on the Valley highway closing?

The closure are necessary so that the ramps can be reconstructed to fit new sails that are under work.

Closing the Gilbert Road ramp is part of a $ 200 million project to expand an 8-kilometer section of Loop 202 between the Loop 101 Price highway in Chandler and Val Vista Drive in Gilbert.

The project in the Eastern Valley begins in August 2024 and is expected to continue for 2.5 years.

Meanwhile, limiting the cactus path is part of a $ 108 million project to add one lane in each direction to the 101 cycle between Shee Boulevard and Princess Drive/Pima Road.

Work in Scottsdale began in January 2024 and is expected to continue for about two years.
