▶ Two Asian men arrested
▶ Distributed flyers to promote brothels
Two Asian men have been arrested by police for openly running a prostitution ring in a residential area of Irvine, a community densely populated by Koreans and other Asian groups. The men were caught distributing flyers advertising prostitution services by placing them on parked cars in the area, including neighborhoods where many Koreans live.
The Irvine Police Department announced on the 18th that they busted a brothel operating from a home in Irvine and arrested two men on charges of promoting prostitution and human trafficking. Additionally, three young women in their 20s and 30s were rescued from the scene. Before leaving the premises, those women were given information about resources for victims of human trafficking, according to police.
After obtaining a search warrant and conducting an investigation, police confirmed that prostitution was taking place at the home and arrested two Chinese men aged 51 and 36.
The men reportedly advertised the brothel by distributing leaflets with contact details, including the address of the home where prostitution took place, to vehicles parked nearby. According to police, the flyers contained messages such as “Call if you want to have a good time.”
