Preview: Washington Wizards take on Suns without PG – Sports Illustrated

The Washington Wizards wrap up their series against the Phoenix Suns tonight in the center of the footprint.

The two teams met last week in the nation’s capital, where the Suns walked away with a 130-123 victory, handing the Wizards their eighth straight loss.

Since then, the Wizards have gone on a losing streak, dropping the first four games of their six-game homestand. Meanwhile, the Suns continued to win, putting two waists in the win column while losing a game to the NBA-Best Cleveland Cavaliers on the road.

The Wizards are just four games away from matching the horrific 16-game losing streak they had in November and December, but a win tonight on the road against the Suns would turn their fortunes around.

To win, the Wizards must be able to string together four strong basketball districts. They’ve managed a quarter or two during that losing streak, but a lack of consistency on the power play over the course of 48 minutes of play has plagued them the past few weeks. Maybe things can change in the desert.
