Prediction Prediction – 01/25/2025 – Fox 5 Las Vegas

Las Vegas has seen 195 days without measurable precipitation. The currently dry streak will be snapped as the first significant winter storm of the season takes aim at the region on Sunday and Monday.

Mostly cloudy skies expected throughout the day on Saturday. There’s a slight chance for late-night showers Saturday night, though Saturday is expected to be the drier day this weekend with highs in the mid-50s.

A cold storm moves in Sunday, increasing the chance for showers that will continue into Monday. The increase is growing that it will produce measurable rainfall in the 0.10 to 0.50″ range. With the long dry stretch the roads will be slick as this is the first significant rain we’ve seen in months.

With this being a cold storm, snow levels will be low; Descending between 2,000 and 4,000 feet Monday morning. This brings the potential for mixed rain/snow showers to the Las Vegas Valley. In the mountains, 10 to 15 inches of new snow is forecast for Mt Charleston.

The storm forecast will move into Wednesday, with milder weather returning later next week.
