Shreveport, La. (Ksla/Gray News) – Billy Jamison did his job as a pharmaceutical driver when his life was taken from him while making delivery on the spot in Louisiana Wallrines.
The robbery and the steal took place on Wednesday near the intersection of Line Avenue and Kings Highway.
Jamison was 67, according to Shrevport police chief Wayne Smith.
Family members said Jamison was the father of four. He was also the only viewer of his own father, who is his 90s.
Jamison’s family said he was a soft maneuver, a loyal member of his church and a former pastor in the Shrevport area.
“You would not find a more relaxed, gentle and supportive person,” said a family member.
Walgreens made a statement about Jamison’s death.
“Our thoughts are with his victim and his family. The safety of our patients, clients and team members is our priority. We collaborate with Shreveport PD in their investigation and will address them for additional issues, “the company said.
In an attempt to support law enforcement, the Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stopers offers a $ 5,000 award for information leading to Jamison’s murder.
“We hope that the community will come out with any information that can help the law enforcement authorities to end this violence,” said Terry McNight, CEO of the crime stoppers.
Larry Lewis was wanted for his possible involvement in the murder on January 22, according to police.
Murder detectives want the public’s help in finding Lewis. It is considered armed and dangerous.
“This type of violence has no place in Shrevport, especially in our neighborhoods where families live, work and send their children to school,” said Council member Gary Brooks. “My thoughts are with Mr. Billy Ray Jamison’s family during this difficult time. I also want to thank the Shrevport Police Department for their quick response to this incident and their continuous efforts to find the perpetrator of this tragedy. “
Jamison’s death marks the second murder in Shrevport in 2025.
“My heart grieves every time there is a loss of life that is meaningless,” said Council Chairman Talata Taylor.
