HIALIA, FL. (WSVN) – All lanes of the Palmetto Freeway near NW 58th Street have reopened in both directions after crews worked on a downed power line, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The closure, which was announced before 5 p.m., brought rush hour traffic to a standstill.
Officials said an overhead power line fell on State Route 826.
The Skyforce HD flew over what appeared to be a downed power line spanning both northbound and southbound lanes.
Cameras captured Florida Power & Light workers trying to remove the downed power line.
