Police have shot a man at the shuttered Lakemill Lodge in downtown Reno.
The suspect was transported to Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Police say they responded around 6:30 a.m. Thursday to a report of a man with a gun who then barricaded himself inside the vacant building.
At one point, SWAT was called to assist and there was some kind of altercation when the shooting happened.
The identity of the suspect has not been released at this time.
Police said no officers were injured.
Health inspectors closed the property on Wednesday after drugs and human waste were found in common areas.
Lakemill Lodge will remain closed until these spaces are cleaned and then released by Northern Nevada Public Health and the City of Reno.
