HIALIA, FL – An argument between a 36-year-old driver and a 29-year-old man who worked for a mobile tire repair shop ended in a fatal shooting Saturday in Hialeah, police said.
According to Lt. Eddie Rodriguez, spokesman for the Hialeah Police Department, Michelle Lope Montes de Oca accused Brandon Hurst of putting a used tire instead of a new one.
According to Rodriguez, Hearst told officers that Montes de Oca was so upset that he threatened him with a machete in the area of West Second Avenue and 29 Street.
Hearst reported that when Montes de Oca attacked him with the machete, he grabbed a gun and defended himself. According to Rodriguez, Hearst fired multiple shots and Montes de Oca died.
