The San Bernardino Police Department offers a free training class for self -defense and firearms on February 8, from 7am to 4pm, at its headquarters. Open to women 18 years of age or older, the class aims to teach participants critical self -defense skills, situational awareness and a safe firearm in a safe and engaging environment.
During the day, the event will include a presentation for situational awareness, training in self -defense techniques, reviewing potential options for weapons and training of firearms lives.
“The class is so funny,” said San Bernardino Police Association Association member Marty Christiansen. “You start in the morning with the Dorty Jitz-Niva of Dofor are beyond the board, but we all take something we can use in real life. And we ended the day with a firearm training live weapons at the Perris Hill Park shooting range, which I thought was so cool – so many people, including me, had no idea that the range existed. “
The class, coordinated and led by sergeant Paul Sprigs, is adapted to meet a wide range of levels of comfort and abilities. Christiansen emphasized the unique training offered by the course.
“I went to the class four different times and every time I learn something new, especially with situational awareness,” Christiansen said. “The combination of instructors, including two men and two female trainers, provides a variety of prospects and techniques that make it really useful.”
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and to wear a positive attitude. For those who are interested in attendance or questions, registration is available by sending an email to Sergeant Spriggs to [email protected].
The San Bernardino Police Department hopes the program will enable women with practical, life -saving skills that they can rely on in everyday situations.
