When officers arrived, they tried to contact the man, but he ignored commands and escaped, police said.

Roskov found the man and ordered him to show his hands, police said. He ignores officers’ commands and they exchanged shooting, police said.

Both were injured; The officer struck by multiple shots, police said.

Roskov and the other man were taken to the university medical center, where the two were declared dead, police said.
