All four persons in the car were Pointe Coupee parish. Sheriff Renee Tibodo of Pointe Coupee parish says he doesn’t know what they are doing in West Baton Rouge, but is familiar with each of them.

“We had several appearances with them with some violent crimes and some weapons,” says Sheriff Tibodo.

Sources say WAFB that the minor who participated in this incident with Port Allen is the same teenager who was stabbed in Livonia high school. In this case, a 15-year-old student was arrested for puncture. Dana Rogers, frank about the puncture of a suspect, is honest about the problems among children in her community, and she says that this incident is just more proof that things are coming out of use.

“I’m not sure of all of them who were there, but the few I know, they create problems in the community, in school and everywhere else, but no proper action is taken,” Rogers says.

Sheriff Tibodo says it is not clear how the suspects in the case of Port Allen are connected or why they were together, but he says he is aware that there has been problems in the parish. The sheriff says they see a decent amount of conflict between the parish regions and those who have different postal codes. He says the crime of minors has grown everywhere, and Pointe Coupee is no exception.

“I think two factors are the reason for this, one, they are not in school, and I guess the number two would be maybe parents just don’t pay enough attention to them,” says Sheriff Tibodo. “We had a special crime department over the past week to help them go out on the street where these young children are hanging out to try to turn to the minors who just hang on the street corners.”

Sheriff Tibodo also says they have had a passage officer who has helped in the last year and a half, but he says he can be done more if the agencies work together. Rogers, on the other hand, says it is also a lack of supervision from those who have the power to keep teens safe and on the road.

“When we had a meeting at the school board with the chief, she told me that – it is good that she told the family that none of this was recorded, she did not know about any of what was happening at school,” says Rogers Rogers S
