Podcast host asks exit-linked Dragusin to prove his credentials – ToTheLaneAndBack – Tottenham fan site

Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Draguzin has been the subject of aggressive links with a move away from White Hart Lane due to a lack of minutes under his belt. The Romania international played second fiddle to the duo of Christian Romero and Mickey van de Ven at the heart of the defence, with the 22-year-old barely getting any game time since moving to North London at the start of the year.

Draguzin joined the Lilywhites in the 2024 winter transfer window, where the north Londoners secured his signature following a late bid from Bayern Munich.

With the lack of minutes ahead of him, clubs across Europe (especially Italy) are trying to take advantage of the situation and get his signature. However, amid speculation of a move away from Tottenham, Jon Wenham, owner of Spurs’ renowned Lilywhite Rose podcast, has called for the defender to improve as he claims the Romanian has not done enough to warrant a start ahead of Romero and Van de Prep.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham insists it is up to the player to force his way into the starting eleven.

Wenham said:

“We knew that before we signed him. That’s exactly what his agent is. However, to be fair to Dragushin, he hasn’t said anything, it’s always his agent who talks.

“Dragushin just gets on with things. He did well when he started against AZ Alkmaar. Right now, though, he’s not doing enough to push Romero or van de Ven out of the team.

“As much as his agent wants to talk, Dragushin needs to be doing more than Romero or van de Ven, which he’s not at the moment. So, that’s where we are with it and there’s nothing more to say.”

While Wenham criticizes Radu Draguzin, it’s also important to remember that he hasn’t had a clash to prove his qualities and when he took to the pitch for his country following his move to Tottenham, he was one of the best players on the pitch and at some point that needs to be replicated at club level and if regular chances don’t come his way, given his potential, he will try to push for a move away from White Hart Lane.
