Pixies announce special 2025 North American headlining tour – The Music Universe.

The band will play two nights in each city

Pixies will kick off their 2025 North American tour on June 13 at the Wynn Las Vegas/Encore Theatre. The tour is in support of the band’s new album, The night the zombies camereleased October 25 via BMG. The trek will see the band featuring guitarist/vocalist Black Francis, guitarist Joey Santiago, drummer David Lovering and new bassist Emma Richardson perform two different sets on two consecutive nights in 12 US and two Canadian cities. The whole Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde albums will be performed on the first and second nights, classics from the band’s deep catalog, plus songs from the new album. Support on all shows will come from Kurt Vile + The Violators.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, November 1 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Produced by Gil Norton (who also produced Pixies platinum album). Doolittle), Bossanova was released in 1990 and included the singles “Allison” (a tribute to jazz and blues pianist Mose Allison), “Dig for Fire” and “Velouria,” which reached No. 4 on the Billboard alternative chart). Bossanova showed a less primal side of the band, with surf and space rock rising to the fore. Lyrically, Black Francis is even more enigmatic with a recurring sci-fi theme, which in turn influenced Vaughn Oliver’s classic planet design for the cover.

The Pixies’ 1991 album, Trompe Le Monderecorded a golden streak of landmark records. Translated from French means “deceiving the world”, Trompe Le Monde showed that the band was still restless to push their sound forward. Recorded between Burbank, Paris and London with producer Gil Norton back in control, the Pixies’ fourth album is undoubtedly their catchiest yet, with Black Francis lyrics about UFOs and conspiracy theories keeping things weird as power pop creeps in, for to amplify the space rock created on the predecessor Bossanova.

Featuring the singles “Planet of Sound,” “Alec Eiffel,” “Letter to Memphis,” and a flawless cover of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s “Head On,” Trompe Le Monde goes full throttle with 15 songs coming in a quick 40 minute burst. Receiving critical praise at the time and supported by a massive tour that included playing stadiums with U2, it also proved to be the end of the band’s first act, with it taking over a decade for them to return to the stage together. A brilliant record, Trompe Le Monde sounds as fresh as it did 32 years ago.
