A 5-year-old giant schnauzer named Monti won the best in the show title at the 149th Dog Dog Exhibition at Westminster Knell Club on Tuesday night.

He beat six other finalists to win the award.

The runner up was a whip, known as Bourbon for the third time. Other finalists included Bishon Frise, called Neil, a Sky Terrier named Archer, and Shich Tzu, called Comet, who was previously a finalist.

The mix also included a German shepherd named Mercedes, who came second last year, and English Springer Spaniel, called Freddie.

Every dog ​​in Westminster is judged according to how closely it corresponds to the ideal of its breed. The winners receive a trophy, ribbons and rights of boasting, but there is no monetary award.

This year’s competition celebrated the return of the event in New York Madison Square Garden for the first time in four years.
