The pressure accumulated on the Belgian boss and the Ibrox board after the uncomfortable 1-0 defeat at home to the championship in the fifth round of the Scottish Scottish Cup.
Rangers are sitting 13 points behind William Hill Premiership leaders Celtic and will surely end the internal season without a trophy, even though they are in the last 16 of the Europa League.

Prior to playing Hearts in Tynecastle on Sunday, Clement said: “A long week, a very long week compared to all others.
“And after such a defeat where you are full of dissatisfaction with the result, you want the game to react as quickly as possible, to do the right things to give fans and the right things. So it’s a long week in this sense.
“And I talked to Patrick, like every game. So nothing special about other weeks.
“No manager in the world has guarantees – maybe Pep Guardiola in Man City, which he deserves after all the things he did in a long spell there.
“So this is part of football, but we talked about the game and that the result does not reflect the game. But of course, we have to react.

“This is the most important after defeat, unacceptable defeat, leaving the bowl, for which we are all devastated and sick.
“This is the case in the first days of the week for all of us, and you have to react now.”
Clement admits that he was injured by the abuse of fans he received when leaving Ibrox on Sunday and which focused on social media.
He said, “It hurts, of course, because I told you guys in the good times here that the reason I like this job is to do things with people together.
“We have already had some incredible moments of synergy with fans. Good moments, great moments, incredible nights at IBROX, European Games Far, Winning a Trophy together.
“So these are the good times. It was obviously a bad moment. And of course, I also saw the video.

“No (I didn’t see) that people make a video, but in the media it shows what someone calls you.
“There were also many young children who still wanted an autograph and therefore stopped for them.
“I understand the disappointment of people and it is difficult for me to say where the line is, because it is something personal.
“But a few weeks ago, a line was crossed as a manager (Stuart Kettle) and therefore he stopped (stood by Maumwell).
“So it is clear to me that I am here, that I want to fight for this club. I want to get the results we had in the previous weeks, continue to develop this team and make it better and not get results like (Queen’s Park) again. “
