Kurmel Motonrising star with Mayweather Promotions, and Abdullah Masonthe knockout artist who shines under the Top Rank banner. However, Moton, who is being hailed as the next Floyd Mayweatheris convinced that he is playing at a completely different level!

Mason may have the upper hand with a dazzling professional record of 15-0-0 and 13 KOs at just 20 years old after three years as a pro, but Moton is not backing down! With just six fights under his belt and five knockouts, the 18-year-old firecracker believes he is the fan favorite in the boxing world. He recently made quite a splash on Tha Boxing Voice podcast, announcing his popularity with flair.

When the host of the show asked, “Do you think you’re already a bigger name in sports than Abdullah Mason,” Moton did not hesitate in his answer. “Yes, definitely. Like, me and Abdullah are cool… I also talk to him sometimes, but I feel like it’s not really a question.” Moton told Tha Boxing Voice. It’s hard to argue with Moton’s claims — his popularity has only skyrocketed in the past year.

This is mostly due to his association with Mayweather Promotions and more importantly five division champion Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather’s support and confidence in Moton’s abilities thrust the 18-year-old into the spotlight following his undercard debut at Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo last September.

While Top Rank has done a fantastic job of promoting Mason, he just doesn’t have the same buzz around him as Moton. Even a world champion turned promoter shares this sentiment, hailing Moton as the future of boxing.
