They said that approximately 500 more soldiers – to a large extent the central department of the 10th mountain division at Fort Drum in New York – would be sent to the southwestern border.
About 500 Marines will go to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where some of the retained migrants will be held.
Officials who spoke on condition of anonymity as no messages have been made have said that there are continuing discussions about implementation and numbers can be increased if further details are developed.
The Pentagon is racing to release the executive orders of G -N Trump, signed shortly after he took office on January 20.
The first group of 1600 duty troops were located on the border last week.
The deployment reflects the determination of G -N Trump to expand the role of the military in his campaign to close the border and send retained migrants back to his home countries.
The troops that go to the border are expected to help create barriers for concerts in wire and provide the necessary transport, intelligence and other support for the border patrol. The troops who go to Guantanamo could help prepare the migrant influx facility and fulfill other support obligations.
Speaking in a television interview with FOX and Friends on Friday, Defense Minister Pete Heget said he believes the United States could receive “thousands of tents provided in places in Guantanamo Bay.”
But he also said that there was also the opportunity to house hardened criminals or violent members of the gang. As a result, he said that the Ministry of Defense was preparing detention facilities in Guantanamo, “which are mainly Supermax closes” to be used to hold them temporarily.
Officials say a whole week that there are likely to be additional deployments to the troops to help secure the southern border – potentially unfolding quickly over the coming days. The possible total deployed can be up to 10,000.
Before D -Trump returned to the White House, there were already about 2500 security and spare forces, consistently located at the border. The officials noted that given the length of the border by nearly 2000 miles with Mexico, additional forces would be needed to help place large rolls of barriers for concert wire on the spot and to provide support for the border patrol.
Approximately 1,100 Army soldiers and 500 Marines ordered to set up to the border last week all arrived in El Paso, Texas and San Diego and many of them have already started work.
Separately, US military provides military aircraft to deport internal security for more than 5,000 detained migrants. At least some of them are expected to go to the US detention center in Guantanamo Bay.
On Wednesday, the president said his administration plans to send the “oldest criminal aliens” to Guantanamo. He ordered the Pentagon to prepare to hold up to 30,000 migrants. He said that some of the migrants cannot be believed to stay in their home countries after being sent back.
“Some of them are so bad that we don’t even believe the parties to hold them because we don’t want them to come back, so we will send them to Guantanamo,” said G -N -Trump.
This is not the first time the migrants are held in Guantanamo. US authorities have detained migrants captured in the sea in a facility known as the Migrant Operations Center, including Haiti and Cuba people.
