Pedestrians were fatally hit by a pickup of I -26 in Newbury County, say soldiers – WLTX.com

Newberry County, SC – one man is dead after a crash starring a pedestrian in Newbury County on Wednesday night.

Soldier’s master William Bennett with a South Carolina highway patrol said the deadly clash had happened around 10:15 pm on the I-26. Bennett said the incident happened on the east of about nine miles north of Newbury.

He said the 2015 Chevrolet pickup with only one passenger hit a pedestrian walking east along the interstate road near the marker 66 miles.

The pedestrian, who has not yet been publicly identified, succumbed to his injury at the scene.

Bennett said South Carolina’s highway patrol is still investigating the fatal pedestrian disaster.
