Baton Rouge – After serving as a pastor in both the Baptist Church of the First Hope and in the Second Baptist Church for nearly 50 years, Reverend Leo D. Cyrus -Senshi officially retires.
The Reverend has served as a pastor in the first place for 48 years and the second Baptist for 41 years.
Cyrus will be awarded a pair of events at First Hope, which is on Greenwell Springs Road near Avenue Washington. Both events are intended to celebrate his inheritance and contribution to the community.
On Saturday, March 22, residents were invited to a special service in the church. Next Sunday, practitioners are invited to attend the culminating event for an attempt at worship, which will be a tribute to the Reverend Cyrus, presenting music and certificates from community members.
