LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A pedestrian was injured and a driver is in custody after a crash west of the Strip Thursday night.
According to the Las Vegas Police Department, the crash happened at West Flamingo Road and Cameron Street around 11:37 p.m.
The initial investigation determined that a male pedestrian was crossing northbound on Flamingo near a marked crosswalk while a brown Ford Maverick was traveling westbound.
The Ford hit the pedestrian, who was taken to UMC Traumatology with a life-threatening condition.
The driver of the Ford remained at the scene, although police said he showed signs of impairment. He was taken into custody on DUI-related charges.
Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the Flamingo were closed briefly, but have since reopened.
The crash is under investigation.
