Non -profit activities are working to combat “Delicious Beds” by building and delivering beds to needy families.

On Friday and Saturday, they set out to prepare 163 beds for delivery, and volunteers work hard to make sure they have achieved this goal.

In 2-hour shifts, volunteers grind, pierce, screw and brand all the necessary pieces to deliver the beds around Siouxland.

“We build all the components, side rails, boards, leg boards and store them,” says JP Wilson, senior director of Operations Operations. “When they go to deliver them, they take the parts and assemble them in the homes.”

The days of construction were divided into 4 shifts, 1 on Friday and 3 on Saturday and there was certainly no shortage of volunteers.

“I think every shift we had was exactly about 65, 70 people,” said City City President City Meredith Davis-Vogt. “When you think about it, it’s about 250-280 volunteers who are activated to help care for the ungodness of children in their community.”

The next construction of the Sleep Community in Heavenly Peace is scheduled for Sunday, March 2, in Siu City.
