Former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has criticized former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo over his recent comments that it has become difficult to find decent people in Nigeria.
Osibanjo, who made the remarks while addressing students of MIVA Open University during the institution’s graduation ceremony in Abuja on Saturday, October 19, stressed the importance of integrity, asserting that even thieves in society look for people of integrity to help them manage their stolen wealth.
“If you borrow money, you have to pay it back. Don’t make promises you can’t keep. Honesty pays,” said the former number two man.
“It’s getting scarcer. It’s getting harder and harder to find decent people. So there is a lot of demand. And I can say this because honest people are in demand; they are highly sought after by all.
“Even thieves look for honorable men and women to keep their stolen money. Life is a marathon. This is not a hundred meter race. The person who will endure this marathon deserves trust because trust is the currency of business and interpersonal relationships. If it is known that you have no integrity, everyone will soon find out,” he added.
But while reacting to the remarks, Omokri called Osibanjo a back-stabbing traitor who betrayed President Bola Tinubu by participating in the 2023 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary when it was clear that Tinubu was also in the race .

In a post on his X handle on Sunday, Omokri expressed shock and disappointment that Osinbajo
can speak of integrity when there is none.
He went on to accuse the former Vice President of practicing the exact opposite of what he preached when he decided to contest against Tinubu for the APC presidential ticket.
“It is almost shocking that former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is talking about integrity. What integrity does Osinbajo have?” he wrote.
“A man who ran in an all-progressive congressional primary against his only benefactor? And today such a traitor speaks of integrity?
“Look at the revelations coming out about his administration and the Buhari administration. They illegally borrowed ₦50 trillion through ways and means and depleted our foreign reserves, leaving behind more debt than all past governments put together.
“Isn’t Osinbajo ashamed that when his own spokesman was asked which government was the best in the history of Nigeria, Laolu Akande said it was Obasanjo’s government? Even people who worked with Osinbajo and Buhari know how inept they were.
