Santa Fe, Nm (AP) – the investigation of Jean Hakman’s death, his wife and dog have not found signs of a fake or rifle or other wounds, and the gas company helps the probe in the sign that authorities may suspect that carbon monoxide poisoning is guilty.
The couple and their dog were found dead during a wellness check on Wednesday at their home in New Mexico, authorities said on Thursday.
The fauze game was not suspected, but the authorities did not reveal how they died and said the investigation was going on.
The 95 -year -old hackman, the 63 -year -old Betsy Arakawa, and their dog were dead when MPs entered their home to check their well -being early Wednesday afternoon, Santa Fa Deniz Avila County Sheriff said. She said there was no indication that any of them had been shot or had other types of wounds.
The group but beloved hackman was among the best actors of his generation, appearing as villains, characters and anti-heroes in dozens of dramas, comedies and action films from the 1960s until his retirement in the early 2000s.
He routinely appeared on the Hollywood list of the largest American actors of the 20th century. He could play virtually any kind of role – from the villain of comics Lex Luture in Superman to a coach who finds redemption in the sentimental favorite “Huser”.
Hakman was a five-time Oscar nominee, which won for the French connection in 1972 and unforgivable two decades later. His death comes just four days before this year’s ceremony.
The stands quickly poured from Hollywood.
“The loss of a great artist, always a reason for both mourning and celebration: Jean Hakman, a great actor, inspiring and magnificent in his work and complexity,” wrote the director Francis Ford Coppola on Instagram.
Hakman met with Arakava, a classically trained pianist who grew up in Hawaii, when she worked part-time at the California gym in the mid-1980s, the New York Times reported in 1989. They soon moved together and broke up to Santa Fa by the end of the decade.
Their ranch in the southwestern style of Old Sunset Trail sits on a hill in a gated community with views of the rocky mountains.
The 2,300 square meter home per hectare (0.4 hectares) was built in 2000 and has an approximate market value of just over $ 1 million, according to tax records on Santa Fu County ownership. It is modest compared to the dispersed neighborhood mansion, which was estimated at $ 7.9 million.
Hackman also co -authored three novels, starting with Swashbuckler, “Awakening the Perdido star,” with Daniel Lennihan in 1999, according to publisher Simon and Shuster. He then wrote two alone, ending with a “pursuit” in 2013, for a female police officer on a predator’s tail.
During his first few decades in New Mexico, Hakman was often seen around the historic capital of the country, known as the artist’s enclave, a tourist destination and a retreat for celebrities.
He was a member of the board of the Georgia O’Kif museum in the 1990s, according to the local newspaper, New Mexican.
In recent years, it has been far less visible, though even the most Svetno trips caught the attention of the press. The independent writes about him, who visits a show at the Center for the Performing Arts of Lensic.
In addition to participation in awards, he was rarely seen in the Hollywood social chain and retired from acting about 20 years ago. His was the rare Hollywood retirement, which actually continued.
Hakman had three children from a previous marriage. He and Arakava had no children together, but were known for having German shepherds.
Hakman told the Empire of film magazines in 2020 that he and Arakava love to watch the DVDs that she hired.
“We like simple stories that some of the small low -budget movies manage to produce,” he said.
